Because a medical emergency can happen at any time, Companion Animal Hospital offers an emergency call service to existing clients in Hammond, Ponchatoula, Loranger, Tickfaw, and Independence, Louisiana between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.. If you have an emergency, you can call or text 985-520-1664 to talk to our office manager who has more than 15 years of experience at our hospital.
If you are questioning whether or not your pet’s condition is an emergency, the following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek emergency care:
- Difficulty breathing
- Acute abdominal swelling
- Electric shock
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Bleeding
- Exhibits symptoms of heat stroke
- Seizures
- Sudden onset of weakness
- High or low temperature (more than 104 or less than 100 degrees)
- Unable to urinate or defecate
